Toy Music Video

For the Toy Music Video project, we produced a lego stop-motion style piece. Within this piece we had to reproduce a music video, shot by shot. For our project, me and my group focused on a Hip Hop music video instead.

  • The first task was to research the conventions of music videos, in order to capture it effectively within the piece.

  • To do this we used sites such as Google, in order to find direct articles on the conventions used within music videos, whilst also using YouTube to show us actual examples of the media texts.

  • First we produced a story board, which was a rough document with all the different shots within the original music video, which outlined the mise-en-scene, and the different camera angles, making it easier to produce once we started filming.

  • Secondly, we produced a blocked plan, which was a list of all the shots that we were going to create when we were actually filming.
