In order to create our music video we had to take into mind several factors, each having a huge impact on the content and type of video that was made. The main factors that affected the video was firstly that Omar's genre of music was Punk Rock, thus we had to create a video that followed the conventions of a Punk Rock music video, whilst simultaneously having something was unique in its own way. The second factor that we had to take into consideration, which also helped to create the unique aspect of the video was that Omar was unable to attend shooting for too long, or in areas too far away from the hospital, thus we had to create an idea where we could incorporate Omar easily, whilst also having a video that was shot in varied and more conventional areas, thus we came up with the idea of having a character who danced, that also represented Omar's mind.
The dancing character's shots were all filmed in the Liverpool Street and Shoreditch areas, which is very urban and has a lot of street art everywhere, making it an ideal location for shooting a Punk Rock music video. Omar's shots were filmed in my apartment building's public garage, which was nearer to the hospital that Omar needed access to, thus we were able to bring him in for half an hour of filming, and done it in a way that not only fit in with the conventions of Punk Rock due to the urban concrete looking location, but was also convenient for the artist himself.
The last factor that we had to take into consideration was budget. Due to us not having money in order to help create the video, we used props and accessories and mixed them together, such as the dancing character using a mime morphsuit, with a longline bomber jacket and black vans, which acted as good props as they looked like something out of a Punk Rock music video due to the black colours, and the costume was used as the base, with the mask showing, which had a creepy but sad looking vibe to it. Also, due to money constraints it also meant that we could not hire out a professional studio or warehouse to shoot the video, thus the concrete garage and areas around Liverpool Street and Shoreditch were the most ideal locations to shoot in.
